Dal Makhani - My Style



Whole black Gram - 200gms

Red kidney beans - 50gms

red onion - 2 ea(finely chopped)

Tomato - 2 ea (finely chopped)

Ginger/garlic paste - 2 tsp

green chilli - 3 ea(finely chopped)

Ginger whole - 1tsp(finely chopped)

Garam masala - 1tsp

chilli powder - 1 tsp

Double Cream - 2 tbsp

coriander - 2 tbsp (chopped)

Seasoning - To taste


Soak black gram & kidney beans overnight separately

Pressure cook it until nice & soft (can be done together)& mash it

Saute onion & tomato in hot oil & add ginger garlic paste.

Add the green chilli, garam masala & chilli powder & cook till raw flavour worns off.

Add the mixture to the boiled beans & heat it. mix it occasionally to avoid sticking to the pan.

allow it to cook well & add seasoning to taste.

Finally add a touch of double cream & garnish with chopped coriander.

Serve hot with roti or chappathi.
