Normally I make Uthappam from leftover Idly batter. It is a very authentic recipe.I am a fan of Kuzhi Paniyaram &Appam at Grand sweets,Chennai. This is one of the common snack item during tea . It goes very well with gun powder and authentic chutneys.
Idly Batter- 4 cups
Onion- 1 medium (finally chopped)
Red pepper - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Yellow pepper-2 tbsp(chopped)
Carrot-1 no ( grated)
Ginger- 1/2 tsp (grated)
Green chilles-1 no ( finally chopped)
Coriander leaves- 2 tbsp ( chopped)
Salt- to taste
Take a bowl add all vegetables, idly batter & mix well.
Heat the paniyaram pan & add little oil in it.
Add the dough mix & allow to cook & turn it around to cook other side as well.
Serve hot with Sambar or Chutney.
