MOONG DAL LADOOS- PAYATHAM MAVU LADOOS-PASI PARUPPU LADOO- NEI URUNDAI- This is very tasty & Easy to make. This ladoo is very healthy & protein rich.This lentil based sweet is  a classical Indian sweet Recipe.

Ingredients
Moong dal-2 cups
Sugar-1 cup
Ghee-1/2 cup
Cardamom powder- apinch
Cashew nut-2 tsp (sliced)

Method
Dry Roast the moong dal & grind in to a fine powder.
If not fine powder & sieve it .
Grind the sugar into a fine powder.
Take a bowl add moong dal powder, sugar powder, cardamom powder & mix well.
Heat the ghee add chopped cashew & roast it and to the bowl.

Mix well & make a round shape & keep it air tight container.

One of my family's favourite snack. always available all year around & makes a best accompaniment for any kinda of meal or by itself. My husband's favourite & is very good in potassium & dietary fibre.

Ingredients

Raw Banana/Nendram banana- 2 no
Oil- for frying
Salt- to sprinkle
Method
Deskin the plantain & slice it
Heat oil in a pan, deep fry the plantain until crispy.

sprinkle a pinch of salt & mix it.

PASTA WITH RED PESTO- BELL PEPPER PASTA- EASY PASTA RECIPES-KIDS PASTA RECIPES

This is simple & easy to make pasta recipe.
Ingredients

Pasta- 100gms( I used Conchiglie)
Olive oil- 1tbsp 
Chilli flakes-1 tsp(Acc to taste)
Green pesto-1 tsp (optional)
Parmesan cheese-2 tbsp
Salt- to taste
Pepper-a pinch

Red pesto:
Red bell peppers- 2 no
Garlic-3 no(minced)
Chilli flakes-2 tsp
Basil Leaves- 2 tsp
Olive oil-2 tbsp
Parmesan cheese - 1tbsp

Method
Boil the pasta for about 10min until it reaches 'Al Dante' & drain it. Drizzle oil to avoid the pasta sticking.
Blend with red bell pepper(capsicum),garlic, redchill flakes,2 tsp olive oil,basil leaves & parmesan cheese to make a fine paste.
Heat oil in a pan, add chopped garlic,red chilli flakes & sauté.
Add blended sauce & allow to boil.
Add green pesto & mix well.( I love  green pesto .so i added it as an option)
Add crushed pepper & Boiled pasta.
Allow to blend & finally add parmesan cheese.
Serve hot with little parmasen cheese on top.

CARROT KOSUMALLI

CARROT KOSUMALLI
Kosumalli is a healthy veg & protein salad.Adding moong dal is good for health. It is a common dish in every tamil brahmin's Marriage ceremony.

Ingredients

Carrot-2 no (grated)
Splitted moong dal- 1/2 cup (soaked )
G.chillies-2 no
Mustard seed-1 tsp
Oil-1 tsp
Salt- to taste
Lemon Juice-2 tsp

Method

Soak the moong dal min 30-45 mins & drain it.
Take a bowl add grated carrot,soaked moong dal, chopped coriander,salt & lemon juice. This is the Kosumalli mix.
Heat oil in a little pan, add mustard seed,g.chilles & allow to temper.
Add to the kosumalli & mix well.

VEGETABLE STEW(KERALA STYLE) | BEST SIDE DISH FOR IDIYAPPAM & APPAM


This is a famous  dish from southern India especially Tamilnadu & Kerala.Normally best accompanied with Idiyappam & Appam. We love the coconut flavour.Normally cardamom ,Cloves,bay leaves are  added in the stew, which  strongly dominates the  coconut flavour that is why I avoided using spices. If you like masala flavours, add along with cumin seed.

Ingredients
Onion-1 no(sliced)
Carrot-1/2 cup 
Beans-1/2cup
Cauliflower-1/2 cup
Peas-1/2 cup
Potato-1 cup
G.chillies-2 no(acc to taste)
Ginger-1 tsp
Coconut-2 cups
Salt- to taste
Oil-2 tsp
Cumin seed-1 tsp

Method
Take a blender add coconut,little water & grind well.
Squeeze the coconut milk &keep it aside. 
Again add the water & grind it again &  squeeze the milk,it looks little thinner than the first milk.
 Cut the all vegetables & keep it aside.
 Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seed & allow to temper.
Add greenchillies,chopped ginger, sliced onion & sauté until translucent.
 Add all vegetables,salt & thin coconut milk & allow to cook until done.
check the vegetables & cooked well, add first coconut milk & allow to simmer upto 3 mins.
Serve hot with Idiyappam or Appam.
